Wonderful wines
from the Wine Quarter

Warm welcome!

DISCOVER EUROPE'S FIRST WINERY, OWNED BY THOUSANDS OF WINE ENTHUSIASTS …

  • As part of a capital increase, we offered wine lovers the opportunity to join us as co-owners on our journey in October/November 2022 – as the first winery in Europe.
  • During the subscription period, more than 5,000 (!!) wine lovers took advantage of this offer and are now shareholders of Dürnberg Fine Wine AG, directly participating in the economic success of their winery.
  • Our shareholders are wine enthusiasts, not large investors. A participation was possible from 300 euros up to a maximum of 5,000 euros.
Geographical location

Northeast Wine Quarter, easily reachable by car from Vienna in less than an hour.

Our reserves are selectively hand-harvested, and late grape thinning ensures the correspondingly high sugar levels.

The altitude and the associated climate lead to late harvesting dates and help us to bring in and process the harvest while it is still cold.

Philosophy in the Basement

The high altitude ensures late harvest dates and helps us to bring in and process the grapes cold. This preserves the fruity character of the later wines and prevents unwanted tannin development. Especially for the reserve wines, whose grapes we harvest only at the end of October, we use cold maceration of the grapes to extract much of the aroma and extract from the skins into the later wine.

The decision on the aging process is made specifically according to the desired wine type:

Grapes for the finely fruity wines of the Klassik and Trinkvergnügen series are destemmed ("de-stemmed") and gently pneumatically pressed after a short maceration period (cold maceration). The musts are clarified using a sediment filter and fermented temperature-controlled in stainless steel. The young wines then remain on the fine lees for several months. The result is very balanced wines with a fine mineral character, inviting to drink and with elegant cool freshness.

The often several-day cold maceration before pressing leads to an extraction of aromas and tannins from the skins – the wine becomes "denser" and more complex, gaining the backbone for years of aging in the bottle.

Terroir

The cool character of the wines is the result of an exceptional terroir. On the limestone-rich soils and thanks to a favorable microclimate, the grapes achieve ideal ripeness. This results in wines with fine aromatics, pronounced fruit, and vibrant acidity.
